Fred
Zenone became affiliated with the Institute as an Advisor in 1994,
and was a member of the Board of Directors from 1999 into 2004.
He was the Institute's president from December, 2001 to June 30,
2004. During his career as an orchestra musician, the majority
of which was invested as a cellist in the National Symphony Orchestra,
he has been a keen observer of and active participant in organizational
and industry matters.
Throughout the symphony orchestra field, Fred is known for his
leadership and statesmanship during his service as chair of the
International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM)
and for his work on teams consulting with troubled orchestras.
He has also served on the board of directors of the American Symphony
Orchestra League.
In addition to his 30 years service with the National Symphony
Orchestra, Fred has served as an artist-in-residence at Rider
University in New Jersey and as a lecturer at Georgetown University.
